Steve Gill
Steve Gill, affectionately called “Cool Pop” by his five grandchildren, is a semi-retired optometrist and lifelong artist in Mandeville. After years serving veterans as a low vision specialist, he now devotes his time to creating art inspired by South Louisiana’s culture, wildlife, and architecture.
Working in oils, acrylics, and ink on canvas, wood, and textiles, his pieces often feature native birds, pets, and iconic local scenes. He is a member of the Mandeville and Lacombe Art Guilds, offers pet and home portrait commissions, and continues caring for visually impaired patients part time at Louisiana Family Eyecare.
