Supermom: Jenny Carr
Jenny Carr, owner and buyer for The Next boutique in Downtown Covington, has spent years cultivating her love for fashion into a successful career. At just 24, she opened her first women’s boutique on Metairie Road. “Looking back, I had no idea what I was doing,” Jenny laughs. Yet, over time, her passion, perseverance, and willingness to learn along the way have built a thriving business, rooted in her commitment to bringing curated, stylish pieces to her customers.
At the heart of Jenny’s life is her 12-year-old son, Jake. A 6th grader at Christ Episcopal, Jake is involved in many activities, including the Beta Club, basketball, and wrestling. Jenny describes him as compassionate, strong, and full of conviction, with a heart of gold. “Jake is an old soul who loves his family and friends. He’s sweet as sugar, since day one,” she proudly shares. Jenny and Jake share a special Christmas tradition, attending a performance at the Saenger Theatre together each year—a memory she cherishes deeply.
